November 8, 2013 – KGS Awarded US Army Medical Command Information System Controls Testing Contract
KGS was selected by the US Army Medical Command (USAMEDCOM) to provide Federal Information System Control Assessment Manual (FISCAM) self-assessment support to US Army Medical Treatment Facilities across the country. This initiative is a part of a broad USAMEDCOM program to prepare for a full financial statement audit by 2017. While this represents new work for KGS, it extends a five year relationship with USAMEDCOM in support of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) compliance and Financial Improvement / Audit Readiness (FIAR).
"KGS is honored to have been selected to partner with USAMEDCOM to test FISCAM controls of mission-critical business systems," said Larry Grant, President of KGS. "The Department of Defense has committed to achieving an unqualified audit opinion by 2017 and we are proud that KGS's experts are involved to help reach this goal."
Currently, KGS supports audit readiness for 10 Department of Defense (DoD) reporting entities and has helped defense agencies achieve nine unqualified (clean) audit opinions. KGS, who is partnered with Cotton & Company on this effort, provides the full spectrum of financial management, accounting, and technology solutions to the US Army, the DoD, and Intelligence and Civilian Federal agencies.
