November 8, 2013 – KGS Awarded Chemical/Biological Defense Program (CBDP) Audit Readiness Contract
KGS has been awarded a new contract by the Chemical, Biological Defense Program (CBDP) to continue supporting its Financial Improvement / Audit Readiness (FIAR) objectives. On the previous CBDP contract, KGS played a key role in supporting efforts which resulted in the CBDP's successful assertion of its Wave 2 Statement of Budgetary Activity (SBA). This success came a full year ahead of the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (OUSD) FIAR Directorate's schedule.
"We are thrilled to be able to continue supporting the CBDP's FIAR program," said Larry Grant, President of KGS. "The Department of Defense has committed to asserting its audit readiness for all of its financial statements by the end of fiscal year 2017. This award will allow CBDP to continue its role as a leader amongst the defense agencies in achieving the FIAR Guidance's aggressive audit readiness milestones."
Currently, KGS supports audit readiness for 10 Department of Defense (DoD) reporting entities, and has helped Defense Agencies to achieve nine unqualified (or "clean") audit opinions. KGS has partnered with CBDP for over five years and provides the full spectrum of financial management, accounting, and technology solutions to CBDP, the DoD, and Intelligence and Civilian Federal agencies.
